The Pentax K100 is part of the logical evolution that began with the Pentax K1000. The K100 identification of this digital camera shows respect for the K1000 film camera that was introduced during the 1960s. Pentax is one of the very few single lens reflex (SLR) cameras, along with the Nikon line, that have a lens mount that is unchaged for more than 40 years.
