The Jordan Motor Car Company of Cleveland prospered by offering "an honest car at an honest price" and from Edward S.
"Ned" Jordan's figt for innovative advertising.
Jordan assembled cars using parts for reputable manufacturers rather than making their own. While Jordan produced good,
reliable cars, they were not especially powerful or innovative. Their real distinction was in styling which was slightly
rakish and daring. They had nicely appointed interiors and colors with exotic names a Blue Devil Blue, Burgundy Old Wine,
and Egyptian Bronze. Ned Jordan's car and advertisements appealed to the young and carefree buyer.
In its last few years, the Jordan Motor Car Company produced some of its finest models, including this 1929 Speedboy
dual-cowl phaeton, which is reported to have been made as a wedding present for Jordan's daughter, Jane. Its restoration
was sponsored by the Cleveland Automobile Dealers Association in the mid-1970s.
