Edsel Ford commissioned the design of a car for his personal use in 1938. The design was so well liked that Edsel
ordered limited production in 1940. The car was to be called the Lincoln Continental. In 1941, 850 cars were made.
A car made to look like a 1941 Lincoln Continental was used in the first Godfather movie.
