1890 Child's Hearse

Equipped with wheels and sleigh runners the hearse for children was usually white, often ornate and colorful. Grey was
the accepted color for middle-aged people, and the large, black hearse was for the elderly. The cross on top is hinged
so that the hearse can pass beneath tree limbs.
This hearse could be pulled with one horse using shafts or by two horses using a tongue. Note the sleigh runners shown
in one of the photos.
