Hiawatha bicycles were marketed by Gambles Department Store and through their catalogue. These bicycles were made by Cleveland Welding Company (CWC) and Huffman Manufacturing. Murray, another large bicycle manufacturer, was not involved with the Hiawatha brand until the 1960's. Originally, Shelby was the manufacturer of the Hiawatha brand followed by several other manufacturers, and finally, CWC for many years.
