Reo Motor Car Company was formed in Lansing, Michigan and operated from 1905 until 1936, producing automobiles.
After 1936 the company continued in the commercial field for some time. The initials, REO, stand for Ransom Eli
Olds, who had left the Olds Motor Works Company he had founded. He was told that he no longer had rights to use the
name "Olds.." The first Reo was introduced at the 1905 New York Automobile Show in Madison Square Garden where it
immediately became popular.
This 1909 model was produced prior to the time Olds moved to producing a more powerful, expensive automobile. This
early model Reo is a two-cylinder, full touring. It has a 96 inch wheelbase. It is restored from an original model,
and retained its original body. The original price was $1,000.
