The first Buick was sold in 1904. The company was founded by David Dunbar Buick in 1903. The company had a slow start, but they did produce a small number of automobiles until 1908 when production grew to 8,820 units. At this time, Willian "Billy" Crapo Durant used Buick as the basis for founding General Motors.

By 1930 the model on display was being built. It is a two-door Buick sport coupe. The tire size is 6.50 x 19 inches. It cost $1,300 when new. This car was bought and used by the president of the Antique Car Museum of Iowa, Dean Oakes, when he was 15 years old and was driven to high school.
