PodShanking
The act of transferring audio files from one iPod to another using the headphone ports. Requires applications such
as Podzilla.
Cell Time Travel
The process of biological cell dedifferentiation in which cells revert to early versions of themselves which may
provide stem cells for research.
BottleNets
Wi-Fi antennas and networks constructed of recycled materials such as plastic water bottles, bamboo, TV parts,
etc. These are sometimes used in
developing nations.
Gold Farming
The use of low-paid workers to accumulate vitrual scrip in online multiplayer games, like "World of Witchcraft."
The scrip is then sold for actual cash.
The Mother Factor
Mothers who forbid their childres from enlisting in the military due to the casualty rates in Iraq and
Afghanistan.

BLAMESTORMING
Sitting around in a group, discussing why a deadline was missed or a
project failed, and who was responsible.
SEAGULL MANAGER
A manager/director, who flies in, makes a lot of noise, craps on
everything and then leaves.
ASSMOSIS
The process by which some people seem to absorb success and advancement by kissing up to the boss rather than working
hard.
SALMON DAY
The experience of spending an entire day swimming upstream only to get screwed and die in the end.
CUBE FARM
An office filled with cubicles.
PRAIRIE DOGGING
When someone yells or drops something loudly in a cube farm and people's heads pop up over the walls to see
what's going on.
MOUSE POTATO
The on-line, wired generation's answer to the couch potato.
SITCOMS
Single Income, Two Children, Oppressive Mortgage. What yuppies turn into when they have children & one of them stops
working to stay home with the kids.
PERCUSSIVE MAINTENANCE
The fine art of whacking the crap out of an electronic device to get it
to work again.
ADMINISPHERE
The rarefied organizational layers beginning just above the rank and
file. Decisions that fall from the adminisphere are often profoundly
inappropriate or irrelevant to the problems they were designed to solve.

Someone who's clueless. (How most of us feel when we reach that error message via the internet).
OHNOSECOND (not to be confused with nanosecond)
That minuscule fraction of time in which you realize that you've just
made a BIG mistake.

CROP DUSTING
Surreptitiously passing wind while walking through a Cube Farm, then
enjoying the sounds of dismay and disgust--leads to PRAIRIE DOGGING (see PRAIRIE DOGGING).

Quantico Circuit
A surveillance tap that provides intelligence agencies with access to every conversation on a cell phone network.
It is named after the town in Virginia where the FBI Academy is located. Wired says the system has been in place
since 2003. It is readily apparent that our privacy has been reduced since 9/11.
Thought Marshalling
Thought Marshalling is reinforcing memories by briefly dozing after leaning new material. Ostensibly, it takes place
in the first few minutes of sleep.
Macrochip
This is an array of computer microchips connected together by lasers, allowing them to function as a single computer
processing unit (CPU). The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) gave Sun Microsystems $44 million to
build a prototype.
Genetic Corridor
A genetic corridor is a protected migration route for endangered species that reduces inbreeding. A 5,000 mile-long
zone has been established for Asian tigers that will allow tigers in different habitats in the zone to
reproduce.
