Most ICs are manufactured in Asia, but some also come from Europe. They are extremely complex, often consisting of
millions or hundreds of millions of transistors in a single device. Civilian as well as military applications use
transistors from these sources. However, ICs that are radiation hardened for military satellites are manufactured
by a few US companies that specialize in radiation-hardened products.
